Kit's Say On: Engagement

heyla people...

since my althie can't blog right now, i think it's only fair that i post something.. just to maintain your interest.

engagements & weddings are something pretty close to my heart. my cousins and friends are getting engaged/hitched all around me. and me? well, it used to be when people asked me when my turn would come, usually i'd answer

(a) i'm lesbian (if it's someone who can take that kinda joke)
(b) carikan la!! (if it's someone from the older generation whom i can joke with)
(c) bila dah jodoh, jadi la... (if it's someone i don't really know.. heheh)

nowadays, when people ask me about getting married or stuff like that.. it's usually when i'm in the heart of all the activity, and i answer with a little smile playing across my lips because i've got a secret.... a very dear secret, one that i'm....

........not telling!!

Engagement

No!!! dont jump to conclusions guys and gals, im not announcing my engagement on my blog, well not yet anyway, just wanted to blog about the subject since it seems everybody i know is getting engaged right left and center.Why is there a sudden rush of people getting engaged? i dont know, maybe because most of my friends are around my age and for those that are not married yet or engaged it is about time kut, hehehe, ye laa, kita dah tua, bila lagi nak membina masjid kan? Or maybe is it just because since the middle of the year ive been more sensitive to these type of things since im now in a relationship that *touch wood* will lead us to the altar... * i know, i know, its just an expression, Islam mana ader altar *

I always thought getting engaged was something very big and people should know about it but it seems now banyak orang tak nak bagitau dah bertunang, semua nak senyap-senyap jer... oh well, maybe the perception has changed. My mum (yes, i DO talk and discuss stuff with my mum and sometimes i complain to her too) says that maybe the reason that now bertunang tidaklah digembar-gemburkan is because in this time and age, banyak lak kes putus-putus tunang ni... thats what she says laa, so if you dont gembar-gemburkan it, if anything untoward happens, takder ler malu sangat.. well thats what she says laaa... hear me out, im not wishing this on anybody, neither friend nor foe, but i think i understand where she is coming from.
understanding and agreeing are totally different things however, because i dont agree with the practice of only telling your close family and friends. i have a close friend, lets call him A, who got engaged and according to customs wasnt allowed to ikut to the girls house so he spent the day with me waiting in anticipation of the answer from belah perempuan, we spent the day.. well it doesnt matter what we were doing at the time laa but when his father called him to tell him semua dah beres you could literally see his face light up, he was so happy, even thought the reply wasnt in any doubt, lega rasanyer for him bila dapat the call from his father, you never know kan? After he recieved the good news he started telling everyone that he met (yang dia kenal laa and some yang tak berapa kenal pun) yang dia dah bertunang. Dia dah selamat diijab kabulkan pun and is happily married now but i was grateful to share the experience with him waiting in anticipation of the answer (well more him than me, i was just along to keep him company and restrain him from doing anything foolish like driving over to belah perempuan and waiting outside the door, hehehe) I was also his best man during his wedding but i will leave that to blog about another time. But this was a few years back, lets move on to something more recent then..

Ada pulak another close friend of mine, hereby christened H, that recently got engaged. He told me after he got engaged and i dont really blame him laaa, dia dah duduk kat kl while im still stuck in ipoh (hopefully not for much longer) and we hardly keep in touch now tapi kiter memang member kamcing ler, like my friend i mentioned above, kamcing giler ler, so anyway,he gave me a call out of the blue and we talked and i could sense that he wanted to tell me something but was beating around the bush so, I , out of the kindness of my heart to save him from a higher phone bill (hehehe another interesting subject, phone bills, wow, banyak lak idea nak blog ni) cut through all the *ahem* crap and asked him jokingly "Apahal ni H, tiba-tiba jer call, hang dah kahwin ke?" and suprise suprise, he told me actually he dah bertunang just a few days ago and dia nak bagitau ler... i was stunned. I later found out that he was the type that didnt want everyone to know, only close friends, and even though im flattered that he called to tell me personally i dont agree with him at that. His reason? well i asked him coz sometimes im just a busybody and he told me "bertunang jer, satgi kahwin bagitau ler semua orang" That was a few months back.

Even more recently, i found out that another friend of mine dah bertunang, F, through someone else and he got engaged 2 months before i even found out!!! ni lagi satu.. bila tanya siap cakap "mana hang dapat berita ni??" adoi!!! nasib baik dapat confirmation from sumber-sumber yang boleh dipercayai... well, i guess im in no position to judge, to each his own...


Well there you have it, 3 different people getting engaged and 3 different ways they go about it (as in who they tell and/or their reaction)... some of you may be wondering how i would do it ( and kepada yang tak wonder tu, im still gonna tell you) and i have asked her and she says it would be ok so i think i would tell everyone i know, bila jumpa and even announce it on this blog, after the fact of course, but if anyone asks before and we have the date set, ill tell them when. The reason, well, me and H once had a long talk about bertunang and its significance and we totally agreed that apart from being a ceremony where it is formally asked about the availability of the bride to be (or is that merisik? not sure laa), dibincangkan how long the engagement would be, dikompromi how much the hantaran would be (not sure about compromise though, bukan they just set a price and then we pay ke? hehehe) and all that it is ALSO (an important point to me) a ceremony to tell the world that the girl/guy is spoken for and thou shall not trespass, maybe i could have put it another way but thats the gist of it laa. Or i could say that it means "Yang disana dah berpunya, jangan siapa-siapa gatal nak kacau kang ader yang masuk wad karang." Personally i still think that it was one of the main reasons that bertunang was actually invented in the first place, to lay claim first in the olden days but im no historian so.... summing up, ill probably be more like A but maybe in a larger scale, not like H and definitely not like F well thats all folks, my thoughts on engagement and how i would go about it *fingers crossed* in the not too distant future.. ciao..

Im back

Dah balik dah from Kuala Lumpur, hehehe, actually on sunday dah sampai dah tapi tak larat nak check internet until today, banyak lak post yang kit buat on my behalf, hehehe best gak ader girlfriend macam ni kan? Siap blog pun dia tolong updatekan... Anyway, saja nak blog sikit, satgi orang kata tak nak update blog sendiri dah ler bubuh kat shoutbox bayam suruh update blog, blog sendiri tak update, mana boleh, satgi jadi "kata orang, dia yang lebih" hehehe anyway thats all 4 now, ciao dulu

Kit's Say On : Cuti-cuti Malaysia

ader org tu ajak kit gi cuti lepas nikah. kata dia, tak yah gi luar Malaysia, dalam M'sia pun enough aper... hehehe...

anyway, hujung minggu yg baru lepas nih, althie ader la turun KL jumpa kit... itu la cuti2 yg althie post dulu. while he was in KL, althie tumpang tido/lepak kat kelaput. umm.. rasa2 tu apt bayam & the gang.

so kit nak cakap thanks la, kat bayam & the guys sebab bagi althie tumpang...

so what did we do over the weekend? we went and watched bourne supremacy. ingatkan best sangat la citer tu. tengok2 ok je. i liked the books better. the main attraction for me was matt damon, of course.

what else did we do? oh yes. althie nagged at me to eat medicine and all that, and i listened.

i'm quite obedient.

althie tengah gelak la tu. nak kena mamat nih!! excuse me while i go pinch althie.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia

hehehe, im off on holiday, bukan pergi manapun, dalam malaysia gak, bukan lama pun, monday kerja so sunday petang balik, pergi tak ramai, sorang jer.....

Kit's Say On: Raya

i thought the subject was raya/puasa/qadar puasa masa check comments.. (hmpfh! itu hal org pompuan althie.. pandai2 la kami settle...) and suddenly it goes to football. figures. *shrug*

for girls (in my opinion la) raya lepas nikah nih lain sket.. one, sebab persiapan raya kena buat for berdua.. dulu siap baju sendiri, tengok2kan mak nak kain aper, cukup la.. kalau rajin belikan baju anak saudara... lepas nikah, kena siapkan baju dia la, butang baju melayu la, songkok la.. mengicak duit raya la... *hint hint* hehehe. pendek citer, lain sikit la...

kalau beraya rumah mak mertua for the first time.. sure lain la. kena tolong2 kemas.. maybe buat kuih raya.. and then, pagi raya tu... sure nangis la. even kawan2 kit yg brutal2 pun nangis or at least sebak pagi raya tu.. iyerla.. selalu first day raya, lepas subuh je mesti tolong2 mak.. ni.. kat rumah mak mertua.. buatnye plak rumah dorang jauh dari rumah mak.. haru le!!

bukan senang nak jadi isteri orang ni... banyak tanggungjawab. tapi kengkawan kit kata mostly lagi banyak sweet dari sour la, being someone's wife. i dunno. how the hell would i know, i'm still single!!

(uhhh... i meant unmarried, althie.) *chuckles*

kat ofis ni semua asyik cakap pasal plan nak buka kat maner je. org ni jemput la, aper la...bosan ah... kalau citer kat mana nak terawih takpe gaks. bukan aper, ramadhan kan datang once a year.. tapi kalau berlagak nak buka kat jemputan ahli2 politik tuh.. bosan ah.

kit rasa la... tahun ni puasa and raya will be something...different... perhaps even special... after all, i have someone else to think about in my life besides me & my family. *chuckles softly*

vacations

ive just realised that there is never a picture perfect vacation...the type of vacation that everyone wants and hopes to be able to take one day... each and everyone in this world has his or her own view of the world thus his or her view of the perfect vacation is different... so someone's picture perfect vacation might be a nightmare to others hehehe

i have my perfect vacation stored somewhere in the inner recesses of my mind and recently i took it out..dusted it off and took a long hard look at it.. so many things have changed in my life that looking back at those plans.. i realised that it aint so picture perfect anymore.. it may have been at the time i thought about it but not now... anyway, just thought id get my supposedly dream vacation down in writing so when i eventually can afford a vacation i can look back at it... compare the difference and judge for myself which one would be better..


MY DREAM VACATION (some of the things i mention might be offensive to some.. please dont take it to heart... i was young then.. ive changed a lot now.. honestly.. i have)


where should i start...hmmm.. oh yes.. the lenght of the vacation.. it should be at least a week.. 10 days would be more like it..ok then.. 10 days + 3 days transit and transport so all together 13 days laa (bear with me.. cant remember everything i planned dahulukala)

where? why... on the sun drenched and sandy beaches of mauritius of course.. where else...the first day there in my suite (of course duduk suite..dream vacation ma and dream vacation guys... money no object laa.. thats part of the reasons its called a dream vaction..) i wouldnt even have to unpack.. the butler would do it for me... hehehe.. id just have a nap.. (recovering from jet lag.. im a realist.. i know how tiring travelling to somewhere that far can be) before a relaxing session at the resort spa.. getting a full body massage by a nubile young female spa attendant (hehehe.. told you i was young when i planned this), sitting in the jacuzzi, just feeling the hot jet-sprayed water coursing around my body while sipping icy cold pineapple juice ahhh.... total bliss... oopss.. i did mention i would be alone kan? no? well, i would be...

After the spa.. would have dinner in my suite.. freshly cooked seafood.. no rice or bread .. just sweet, fresh, tasty seafood... cooked in a varied assortment of sauces.. yum,yum damn, my mouth's starting to water... after gorging myself... perut kenyang,suka hati...apa lagi, tidor ler.. and thats only day 1...
hehehe.. wont bore you all with a day by day, blow by blow account of what i would do on my vacation... i think ill just list down all must do activities that i have planned..

sport fishing... yes.. memancing.. you know.. using rod and tackle.. hoping to catch a sailfish.. or even a blue marlin.. of course catch and release.. they are rare and not that good to eat but boy can they fight.. or so i heard laa

no snorkling.. no.. i want to dive.. as in scuba diving.. get a guide and just dive through the water admiring the myriad corals and fish , maybe even spearing some, if they allow it.. as in spear gun spearing... not the spearing like in survivor.. that one takes too much effort...

lounging in the shade.. preferably on a hammock.. with an endless supply of icy cold fruit drinks and a good fantasy book.. ciggarettes, if i have an urge to smoke and tiny sandwiches to much on... ahh... total bliss
maybe naik jet ski... feeling the wind through my hair and i definately nak try that parachuthe thinghy... dont know what's its called... yang bot tarik tu... that would be fun.. even if i do suffer from vertigo... afraid of heights i am.. hehehe ahhh what fun that vacation would be..

but i know now.. if i do take that vacation..it wouldnt be fun cause i would be alone and i know now... i would rather stay at home with her than be anywhere else in the world alone..

*Specially for this topic, ill be posting in malay...well most of it laaa....according to some , my malay sounds weird when i talk but hopefully my writings doesnt sound too weird..*

Yo guys...raya nak sampai hehehe...biasa ler...puasa belum start tapi dah teringat pasal raya dah....hehehehe sebenarnyer ader sebab kenapa post pasal raya ni dibuat sebegitu awal...nanti dah baca habis tau ler kenapa...kebanyakkan korang mesti tau yang puasa dah nak start pada 15/10/2004... tengok anak bulan tu buat syarat jer sekarang... puasa tetap start pada tarikh ni... yang belum qadar puasa tu...ingat-ingat ler berapa hari yang tertinggal...qadar secepat mungkin...kang kena bayar beras ler pulak ...kaum hawa ler...kaum adam tiada alasan untuk meninggalkan puasa kecuali sakit tenat maa...tapi ader gak yang masih tak puasa....ish ish ish...asam garam kehidupan...

tapi hari ni nak cerita pasal raya, bukan puasa...itu kita tinggal sebagai topic di kemudian hari....khas kepada yang dah berumur 20 lebih... korang perasan tak, raya sekarang dah tak semeriah dulu...especially dituju khas kepada yang single ler... yang belum kahwin... yang dah kahwin macam man tu, lain cerita..meriah raya dia lain...especially bila dah ader anak... *termenung sebentar....bila nak ader anak ni.....oopsss, kena kahwin ler dulu...* hehehehe... kan salman kan?? cerita ler sikit pengalaman berhari raya bila dah ader keluarga ni... kiter yang masih solo ni nak tau gak...terutama dengan keluarga bahagia macam hang dengan nono dan naim....sen belum lalu lagi...lepas raya nak tau pengalaman dia lak....

sambung balik.... raya dah tak semeriah dulu ler.. bukannyer aku rasa sorang... banyak gak member komplein, raya dulu-dulu lagi best laaa, dah macam tak ader apa-apa laa, itu laa, ini laaa.... kenapa arr? kenapa raya dah tak semeriah dulu? adakah sebab kita dah lebih matang...lebih bertanggungjawab...makin banyak masalah yang hendak dipikul.... berbagai teori telah dilemparkan untuk menerangkan masalah...tidak..gejala ini..tapi mana satu yang betul???

Tuan-tuan, puan-puan, abang-abang, adik-adik, sila ler memberikan komen tentang gejala ini yang rasanyer tidak patut berlaku....macam mana kita perlu menghadapi gejala ini? boleh kah kita memberantas gejala ini dan kembalikan raya semeriah raya dahulu kala? well, let me continue...water...the essence of life on this planet... we sometimes forget that water by itself..with no refinements or embelishments, can be as sweet as nectar...true...it sometimes does'nt taste that way coz of all the flavouring that has left their residue on our tounges..thus masking the original sweetness of water.. dont believe me? try to start drinking plain water exclusively...tak kira ler kalau mineral ke...drinking water ke....air masak ke...not long after that you'll taste the difference... and anyway..its good for you...and kepada yang nak lose weight....great way to do it.... it fools your stomach into thinking that it is full and thus less hunger pangs....see...told you guys that there are many advantages of drinking water....the only disadvantage that i can see of drinking copious amounts of water is that the trips to the WC* will be more frequent...oh well, more chance to "mengulat" then hehehehe

anyone willing to google on the actual scientifically proven benefits of water *giving kit a knowing glance* hehehe feel free to post in the comments or chatterbox or as a post ...personally, im too lazy right now to do it...Anyway....drink lots of water...its good for you....and thats a fact

adjustment and work

adjustments...a sage and wise person once told me to suceed in a relationship...both parties may have to adjust themselves to each other....maybe its true what emmy said...i do tend to wear my heart on my sleeve....well, maybe in matters of the heart i do...*sigh* it seems missing posts are starting to become a habit for me... its happened before...those yang tau , tau ler...anyway...some posts have been edited by moi....it was making someone uncomfortable...and in retrospect... maybe i should have run it past her first...well...im man enough to admit my mistakes and do something about it...even though some of you have viewed it...itu tak dapat nak tolong ler and anyway i cant take back what i said....just make sure that i dont embarass her further.... adjustments the name of the game it seems...and adjust is what ill do cause....Ooops...gotta catch myself...dont know what may spill out if i continue that line of thought....on to other things then...


ive started a temp. job doing designing for a plastic manufacturing factory...some of you might have noticed that im not online that often now...(yeah.. i do think highly of myself... you guys cant live without me...kan? hehehehe) i didnt plan this but at least i know that the blog is in the capable and very well manicured hands of madamoiselle kittypryde...if i larat then ill blog at night...yes i know that that is usually when i blog but no more late nights...tak larat aaaa....mengadap computer the whole day...sometimes i just feel like not even looking at a monitor when im back home....so, will blog when im able too...oh yeah...this post was done during lunch at work (most of the other posts after this will be too) no internet acess at work (can i hear kit screaming "sacrilege")


i always thought designing work would be fun and absorbing....and it was at first...but now im stuck in a stage where time seems just to crawl slowly past....hehehe...maybe im just bored..i think its mainly because i cant figure out all the commands that im supposed to use to actually manipulate and create the designs.....have been doing the template for the design the past 2 days and transfering it to autocad...not that boring...exciting actually ...but its reached a stage today where i dont know how to continue...im supposed to make the template in 3D form and im stuck with it in 2D....dont know how to transfers it to 3D.... would really appreciate any help on autocad usage from anyone.....aaarghh!!!!!!!!!! cant think.... i guess im not that a creative a person..... it doesnt help that im missing someone pretty bad right now... ciao
